CAPTURING THE ESSENCE

OF GROWING UP

IN THE FOODIE

MILTON ULLADULLA DISTRICT

A STORY ABOUT US

Cooking with M.U.D. is a collection of recipes and images capturing the essence of growing up in the foodie Milton Ulladulla District.

Beginning its journey as a fundraising cookbook for a much needed upgrade to St Mary’s School playground, it has grown to touch the hearts of the wider community. It is an eclectic culinary collection of over 140 recipes - something for everyone! Recipes included are from many of our award winning restaurants and iconic cafes – some examples are:

Marinated salmon with passionfruit and lime and coriander
Rick Stein – Rick Stein at Bannisters
Warm chocolate tart, peanut ice-cream, salted caramel
Alex Delly – St Isidore
Beef cheeks
Russell Chinn – Cupitt’s Winery, Brewery and Kitchen
Sweet corn fritters served with roast tomato and chilli jam
Pilgrims Vegetarian Cafe

You will also find recipes and stories from local families with roots from all over the world, breathtaking photography of childhood moments by Dean Dampney and beautiful regional scenic photographs by Michael Van Ewijk.

the love

….and finally the biggest and most heartfelt thanks to our families: the Carpenters, the Gravenors, the Milfords and the O’Sullivans ‐ for the past few months normal family life has been put on hold! Whilst we walked the streets, photographed, baked and sat at the computer, your love, understanding, support and cuddles have kept us going!
